    Question:
    Palm Pre - How to add a ringtone to my Palm Pre Mobile Phone

    Answer:
    As of May 2010, there is no way to directly save an mp3 attachment (Ringtone) from email or MMS on the Palm Pre device. You can add the ringtone to you phone using the one of the following methods:

    Download to PC:
    First you need to download the ringtone to your PC. Then connect your Palm Pre to your PC and select USB Mode. Then just drag & Drop the file from your PC into the /Ringtones folder on your Palm Pre. Safely remove the phone, then set the ringtone.

    Send to Email:
    Once you get that email, open it on a PC. Save the attachment on your PC, then connect the Palm Pre and choose USB Mode. Then just drag & drop the file from your PC into the /Ringtones folder on your Pre. Safely remove the Palm Pre, then set the ringtone.

    It's several steps to take, but currently there is no way to directly save an mp3 attachment from email or MMS on the device. You could request this option at www.palm.com/feedback where the developers monitor for customer requests of new features.

    Question:
    Is my phone Supported?

    Answer:
    Our site works with most phones and carriers out there (both inside and outside the US). However, there are some phones that are not compatible. In the US, we support most carriers including: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Cellular One.

    There are a few notable exceptions:
    Nextel, Boost Mobile, Helio, Tracfone, and Telus Mobility have disabled the ability for their users to use downloaded songs as ringtones.

    Alltel: Our site works with most phones on the Alltel network.

    Here is a list of a few additional phones that should work for ringtones, but don’t because the carriers have disabled the ability to use downloaded songs as ringtones:
    * Audiovox CDM-8915 (Snapper)
    * Audiovox CDM-8945
    * Kyocera KX9 (OYSTR)
    * LG UX260 (Rumor) - Bell Mobility Only
    * LG VX5200
    * LG VX8100
    * LG VX9800 (The “V”)
    * Nokia 6236I
    * Pantech PN-215
    * Samsung SCH-A850
    * Samsung SCH-A970
    * Samsung SCH-R400
    * Samsung SCH-R410
    * Samsung SPH-i325 (Ace)
    * Sidekick II
    * Sidekick III
    * UTStarcom GzOne Type Z

    As long as your phone can receive text messages and access the internet or receive PIX messages (Verizon Wireless, Cricket, US Cellular, and Helio) chances are we’ve got it covered. The best way to tell for sure is to give it a try. Good luck and Enjoy!

    Question:
    How much do the ringtones cost?

    Answer:
    Preston and Steve ringtones are free. This is not a subscription service - there are no recurring fees. All you need to be is a WMMR VIP.

    * WMMR or Convey2web does not charge anything for downloading ringtones.
    * WMMR or Convey2web does not charge for sending ringtones.

    Note: Depending on your mobile data plan, your carrier might charge you to receive text messages (or PIX messages) or for internet access and data transfer. As the carriers like to say, “Standard carrier rates apply.” The typical 20 second ringtone is about 70kb of data. Unfortunately, we don’t have any control over carrier charges, so if you’re not sure what your text messaging and data costs are, you should check with your carrier first. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

    Question:
    Problems getting messages on Sprint phones.

    Answer:
    Some folks have been complaining that they are not receiving the ringtone messages on their Sprint phone (especially the new Samsung Instinct). We’re not quite sure what’s happening and we’ve seen similar complaints from users of other mobile sites. We’ll continue to investigate the problem, but in the meantime… if you don’t receive the messages we send, simply browse to WMMR.CONVEY2WEB.COM from your phone’s browser and download your ringtones directly from our mobile website (no messages necessary).
